Pradosh Vrat is associated with Lord Shiva as well as Chandradev. It is believed that Chandradev was the first to observe Pradosh's fast. It is believed that due to the curse, Chandra Dev had got tuberculosis. Then he started observing Pradosh fast dedicated to Lord Shiva on the Trayodashi Tithi coming in every month, due to which Chandradev got freedom from tuberculosis.
In Pradosh Vrat, Shiva Sang Shakti i.e. Mata Parvati is worshiped, who removes all the obstacles in the life of the seeker and blesses him. The importance and worship of Pradosh Vrat varies according to the day and day. Pradosh Vrat is observed to please Lord Shiva. Like Ekadashi fasts, this fast is also considered to have special significance. This fast is observed on Trayodashi Tithi of every month.
